Where am I in this whole making money online thing
Making money online has never been easier than in 2022.
How many times have you read this in your search results for “ways to generate income online”? That Youtuber that talk about financial freedom in that video titled “passive income ideas that work”, is this not the opening introductory line that comes out of their mouth at the very start of the video.
Or when you log in to your Facebook account and just a little scrolling down shows you a sponsored post of a mom who started a six-figure online business and is basking in her newfound financial freedom which the picture of her with her kids in matching outfits in a beautiful place is a proof of and wants you to learn how to get there by clicking on the “join now” button at the bottom.
Any platform I got to; I was greeted with titles of articles/blogs/videos along the lines of:
“I made $4000 a month using this side hustle”
“These 5 passive income ideas generated $10,000 a month”
“I made $1000 a week blogging, and you can too”
“I make $5000 a month selling low content books”
“This Fiverr/Upwork gig earns me up to $10,000 a week”
The list goes on.
I got hooked. Who doesn’t want to make those fancy numbers online?
When my second and last child started going to school last fall, I sat down and made a list of my skills, interests and passions. Started doing what I do the best, researching. I researched what all is there, turns out there is a lot.
Narrowed my research to what I would be good at, still was a good enough list.
Started freelancing through Upwork. Got noticed, got selected for interviews. Got scammed, three times. Didn’t make a dime. Nothing against Upwork. Just didn’t work for me despite efforts.
Created some decent looking Journals and cute coloring books for kids, after doing a careful keyword research using tools that are a necessity when you venture in to selling these things. Uploaded them on Amazon KDP and still got lost in the huge ocean of journals being available for sale on Amazon. Didn’t make a dime.
Tried drop shipping, didn’t work.
Blogging. Nope
Affiliate marketing. No money.
It’s okay. I am okay. Going to keep working hard, researching harder.
Anyone out there, who is in the same boat as me. You’re on the right path. I am not a Psychic, but something will work out, for you and for me. Till then, keep that head up high and don’t give up.
If you’re a mom, who is taking care of your kids and trying for financial freedom; success may be right around the corner. You are already doing the biggest thing in the world, raising your kids, money making is going to be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy for you.
Its just a matter of time.
